CYBO FOR SALE

July 26, 2005 | Filed Under Blogging

Domain for sale, www.cybo.co.uk could belong to you.

Make me an offer - 5 figures - serious offers only.

Why is it for sale? - because it says nothing about me and I plan to move to something a little more ‘personal’.

Why would you want it? - because you are looking for an easily identifiable brand to sell your new hi-tech product or you are a global communications company looking for a ’sub-brand’.

There are many reasons you might want cybo. If you need me to tell you them then you probably can’t afford it.

Go ahead - you know it makes sense. :-)

Good luck. After the debacle when I gave away canoe.com for nothing, I told the guy who wanted xcski.com that I wanted at least $10,000 for it, and he went away for a year, and came back to ask if I was goign to be more reasonable. I said yes, since I was now even more entrenched with it as my personal identity, I now wanted $20,000. I haven’t heard from him in a while.

Years ago, somebody wanted my navaid.com address, and since I wasn’t using for much at the time, I said I’d trade it for a decent Windows/Linux laptop, and the guy stopped returning my email.
Now I wouldn’t give up either for less than $50,000.

You’re launching an OS and you won’t spend 10k (not 50!) on it?

    as you say ‘meh’…

It’s worth “real money” ‘cos it’s four letters and I’ve had it for some years now…

yes but thats according to an automatic machine! id rather much like the domain to be checked by a human before hand! Also this domain is “.co.uk”

Cybo doesent mean anything in english really and i cant see how it would be needed, only to a comapny called cybo!

If you keep it in the 1000’s i really cant afford it at the moment, i am sorry! But it seems you have been trying to sell it since last year! So i dont know if you will get any people intrested… i dunno!

    Thanks!

    Matt

It was checked by a human - me! Hence the 10k price tag ;-)

Yup, it’s a dot co dot uk domain - and they are worth more in the UK than dot com…

Yup, cybo doesn’t ‘mean’ anything in English - you are absolutely correct, however it is very close to ‘cyber’ and has connotations within the computing industry in general.

It’s value is based on these facts and the fact that it’s a four letter domain that is pronounceable as a ‘word’ there aren’t ANY of those left as far as I’m aware.

I still build small-scale websites myself using the business name ‘cybo’, I have done so since December 2001 and continue to do so. That does not mean I would be unwilling to change my company name or that I can’t choose to sell the rights to the domain name - but it’ll cost…

    …better start saving ;-)

Seems like we’ve been going the same amount of time! i started in 2001 too!

Well ok, i cannot buy this domain, i really cant afford it at the moment!

But check out our new projects we’re making! I’ll update you on any news and maybe by then i might have some money ;)
