A mock up of R2D2 advertising McDonalds

The “Heliodisplay“, from IO2Technology is a realworld ‘holographic’ projector that displays psudeo 3d interactive images and movies ala the scene in StarWars where R2D2 displays Princess Leia asking for help.

An extremely exciting project, the videos and media on Io2’s website blew me away…

…although I am a bit worried about what the the empire evil corporations advertising agencies will do with this technology. ;-)

(yes i know its not REAL 3d, but it’s damn close…)

    Having seen how most people drive in two dimensions, there’s no way I’d license people to drive in three…
