The Sheffield Flood
June 25, 2007 | Filed Under Life | 1 Comment
Heavy rain has brought flooding to many parts of Sheffield, this is totally unseasonal and well out of character…
…global warming? …natural cycles? …apocalypse? …who knows..?
The Little Don has over flowed its banks and the houses there are (were) under severe threat, water is at least 10 feet higher than normal and is at or above ground floor level.
My fiance’s house is (luckily) higher than most on station rd, the cellar is flooded but the house itself is thankfully still dry. water is just under the patio level the shed at the bottom of the garden is under water.
The bridge at Vaughton Hill/Wortley Road is closed and water is running over the top of it.
Her shop at elsecar heritage centre near barnsley is also flooded.
Mill lane has water over the tops of parked cars and boats are being used to rescue residents.
This is now personal.
