For the record…

October 23, 2008

I have incorrectlly been ‘outed’ on Redwatch - as an alleged Communist!

I in no way shape or form endorse any extreme or fundamentalist behaviour either right or left wing, but I do support their right to have their say, as long as what they are saying is accurate, in this instance they have it very, very wrong…

…I’m at most a Liberal.

Screengrab of Redwatch site
Click for big screengrab, they spelt my name wrong, figures…

This is almost laughable.

I’ve attended a few anti-war demo’s, I’ve taken part in peace protests, I’ve danced at ‘peace in the park’, I’ve blogged about injustices and I give money to Amnesty International, I’ve commented on political stories on ‘el reg’ and I might have made a jokey comment or two on a few vaguely left leaning blogs, I support NO2ID (not because of politics, but because the unGovernment can’t build secure IT systems), I’ve got a link to Indymedia on my homepage, and I think Julie Moult is an Idiot, i disagree with the global arms trade, I think the US are fighting for oil, not peace, I used to have a CND logo inked on my school bag when I was 14, I supported Live Aid, I’ve been a hippy, I went to a Mark Thomas gig…

…I like ‘The Clash’, that may be it. ;-)

If it wasn’t for the fact I now have family and my priorities have changed I wouldn’t even give this the time of day however my wife and child are indirectly affected by this and that worries me as any potential threat to them I have to take very, very seriously.

I won’t hide, I will not fear, but I must protect my family.

Dream Captcha

Sheer genius, added to the “wish I’d thought of this” list…

Dream Captcha

“Dream Captcha is a play on the idea of a traditional Ojibwa dreamcatcher and the technology of CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart).”

A friend of mine has launched his new website featuring some sumptuous photographs of nature and landscapes - check him out!

Martin Smith Nature Photography

His aim is to promote his work and maybe make a few quid by selling pictures using the smugmug service.

I wish him well :-)

This picture, taken from Pont Hellbronner on Mont Blanc was entered in the photography competition at the 2008 Penistone Agricultural Show - it placed first in the P2 class. (Yay me!)
