It seems that I have developed cataracts in both my eyes, though the condition is worse in my left eye than my right, this would explain why my vision has deteriorated so much in the last 12 months.
Surgery is apparently simple and relatively risk free, it would also mean that i wouldn’t need glasses for distance vision anymore, win win.

I understand that after cataract surgery your colour vision gets way better too, and you can now see a bit into the ultraviolet.

I wonder if they can do x-rays too ? ;-)
so it looks loke you will beat your mum to the same operation!!
